On Thursday, September 29, 2016, at approximately 4:03 a.m., officers responded to a possible hit and run traffic collision with a body lying in the westbound lanes of Spring Street, east of Temple Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a female lying in the roadway with major head trauma. Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and determined the female victim deceased at the scene.

The Investigation revealed through witness statements that a newer white Mercedes Benz vehicle, struck the pedestrian in the roadway. After viewing video surveillance cameras in the area, it was determined that the vehicle was possibly a white newer model Mercedes Benz with tinted windows and a sunroof. Witnesses described the driver as a male black, in his 20’s or 30’s, wearing a red baseball cap.
