Detectives have made four arrests in connection with recent robberies that have occurred in the North Division area.
Detectives have been investigating the below incidents, which they have determined follow a similar modus operandi (MO) and have similar suspect descriptions. In these incidents, a group of suspects would approach the victim, sometimes exiting a vehicle and sometimes on foot. In some incidents, the suspect(s) were armed. The suspects would then rob the victim of their belongings, typically jewelry, before fleeing the area.
Through an extensive investigation, Robbery detectives identified four suspects responsible for these robberies. Over the last week, Special Investigations Division detectives and Directed Enforcement Team (DET) officers have arrested four suspects as noted below.
“As Chief, my priority is keeping our community safe,” said Chief of Police Wally Hebeish. “It’s disheartening that juveniles are perpetuating crime in our community and victimizing others. Our department has and will, continue working with all of our partners to disrupt this cycle of violence.”
All four juveniles were transported to Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall. Detectives presented the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office last week.
During their investigation, detectives learned this group would steal a vehicle, which was subsequently used in the commission of the robberies. Detectives served multiple vehicle and residential search warrants related to this investigation. Through the course of the investigation, detectives recovered multiple firearms and stolen vehicles.
