Update on 5/8/2020:

On May 8, 2020, Long Beach Police Officers located Blythe in a hotel located in the 3800 block of Lakewood Boulevard. Blythe was found safe, unharmed, and was reunited with his caregivers.

Original Release Published on 5/8/2020 at 9 a.m.:

The Long Beach Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating 92-year-old critical missing person Richard Johnston Blythe, who was last seen on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at approximately 10 p.m.

Blythe was last seen at his live-in care facility, located in the 3100 block of East Artesia Boulevard. Blythe has medical conditions and may become lost and disoriented.

The critical missing person is described as follows:

Age: 92-years-old
Gender: Male
Race: White
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 150 lbs
Hair: White
Eyes: Blue
Clothing: Vietnam Vet hat, white shirt, and khaki pants
Scars/Marks: None
Visible Dental Work: None
Medical Alerts: Suffers from medical condition(s) and may become disoriented
