Yesterday, September 23, 2014, an arson suspect, identified as 23-year-old Bryan Zuelke of Long Beach, was arrested for setting fire to a restaurant in the 200 block of E. Pacific Coast Highway. The fire occurred in the early morning hours on July 28, 2014, and caused over $250,000 in damage. Thankfully nobody was injured as a result of the fire.

The collaborative Long Beach Fire and Police Department's Arson Task Force, along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) identified Zuelke through an extensive investigation. The case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office who issued an arrest warrant for arson and burglary charges.

Zuelke was located and arrested in the 700 block of Cherry Avenue by Long Beach Police Detectives and is currently being held at the Long Beach Jail on $200,000 bail.

The Long Beach Fire and Police Departments will continue to work together to combat and investigate arson related crimes.
