On Monday, December 8, 2014, about 7:12 a.m., Long Beach Police responded to the area of Pacific Coast Highway and the Los Angeles River to check for a possible subject floating in the water. Long Beach Fire personnel determined the male adult deceased at the scene.
The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office also responded. The individual has been identified as Greg Ariola Almodovar, who was reported missing earlier. The cause of death is undetermined.

The Long Beach Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a man who was last seen on Wednesday, December 3, 2014.
The missing person, 23-year-old Greg Ariola Almodovar, was last seen at approximately 9:00 p.m., on 12/3/14, in Long Beach. He is suffering from depression but hadn’t made any statements to lead detectives to believe he would harm himself. His vehicle was located in the area of Willow Avenue and the 710 Freeway on 12/4/14. The circumstances of his disappearance are unknown but suspicious.

The Long Beach Police Department continues to search for the him. Local hospitals have been alerted and area law enforcement and public transportation agencies have also been notified.
