Search Warrant Leads Seizure of Firearms, Narcotics and Illegal Fireworks.

Release Date: 2023-06-29

Our LBPD Drug Investigation Section detectives with the assistance of North Division Directed Enforcement Team (DET) served two search warrants for two locations, leading to the arrest of a suspect and recovery of firearms, narcotics and illegal fireworks.

On June 27, 2023, during their search warrant service, detectives and officers contacted a male adult suspect in the 1300 block of Pine Avenue and recovered narcotics including methamphetamine, ammunition, a firearm and fireworks. Detectives and officers served a second search warrant at a residence in the 1900 block of Arlington Street, where they recovered several firearms including an unserialized firearm (“ghost gun”), ammunition, magazines, approximately 50 pounds of illegal fireworks and a significant amount of narcotics consistent with possession for sales.

The suspect was arrested and identified as Genaro Cazarez Zuniga a 45-year-old resident of Long Beach. Bail was set at $0, and he was released at this own recognizance.

Great work by detectives and North DET for their investigative work, leading to the seizure of firearms, narcotics and illegal fireworks.
