Search Warrant Leads to Firearm and Drug Seizures

Our LBPD East Division Directed Enforcement Team (DET) served a search warrant for two locations, following an investigation stemming from numerous community tips. Through their investigation, officers developed enough probable cause to obtain a search warrant for residences in the 3300 block of San Anseline Avenue and the 3100 block of Bellflower Boulevard.
On July 7, 2022, during their search warrant service in coordination with West Division DET officers and Drug Investigation Section detectives, East DET officers contacted a male adult suspect in the 3300 block of Anseline Avenue and recovered narcotics, paraphernalia and nine firearms. Detectives and officers continued their second search warrant service at a residence in the 3100 block of Bellflower Boulevard, where they recovered several ounces of narcotics, including fentanyl.
Officers arrested the suspect, Steve Buhrmann, a 65-year-old resident of Long Beach, who was booked for one count of felony possession of a controlled substance while armed, one count of prohibited possessor in possession of a firearm, one count of prohibited possessor in possession of ammunition, one count of felony possession of a firearm, and one count of felony operating/owning a drug house. Bail was set at $50,000. The investigation in ongoing.
