LBPD Officers Recover Unserialized Firearms and Make An Arrest

On July 27, 2022, at approximately 10:22 p.m., officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 4600 block of Lakewood Boulevard regarding a shooting in an occupied dwelling.Upon arrival, officers contacted the calling party who stated that her boyfriend, a male adult suspect, was under the influence of a controlled substance and repeatedly discharged his firearm throughout their residence. No injuries were reported, and the suspect fled in a vehicle before officers arrived.
Officers located evidence, including bullet casings and strike marks throughout the residence and an adjacent residence, indicating a shooting had occurred. During their investigation, officers recovered 17 firearms belonging to the suspect, two of which were unserialized.
On July 29,2022 at approximately 2:24 a.m., officers located a vehicle, matching the description of the vehicle the suspect fled in—parked in the 1100 block of East Pacific Coast Highway. The suspect was inside the vehicle when officers arrived, and he was subsequently arrested and transported to Long Beach City jail where he was booked.
The suspect was identified as Andrew Hill, a 39-year-old resident of Long Beach, who was booked on one count of felony attempted murder. Bail was set $1,000,000.
