LBPD Officers Disrupt Burglary in Process, Arrest Two Suspects

On January 12, 2023 at approximately 2:03 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 5500 block of El Parque Street regarding a burglary in progress.

Upon arrival, patrol officers located two suspects matching the description given by the calling party near the scene of the incident. The suspects were detained, arrested, and transported to Long Beach City jail for booking. The preliminary investigation suggests the suspects illegally entered the calling party’s property, and broke into a detached garage. Once in the garage, the suspects stole various power tools, which were subsequently recovered by officers.

The first suspect has been identified as Martin Petronelo-Pensado, a 22-year-old resident of Long Beach, who was booked on one count of first-degree burglary, one count of possession of a controlled substance, and one count of possession of burglary tools. Bail was set at $60,000. The second suspect was identified as Jennifer Medina, a 22-year-old resident of Long Beach who was booked on one count of first-degree burglary, one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of unlawful paraphernalia, and one count of possession of burglary tools. Bail was set at $50,000.
