Original Post 7/3/22:

On July 3, 2022, at approximately 11:45 a.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Magnolia Avenue regarding a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 16-year-old female victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body. Through their investigation, officers determined the victim was setting up for a fundraising event in a parking lot near the area when she became involved in an altercation with an unknown number of suspects.

A short time later, an unknown suspect shot the victim.  Detectives are investigating to determine if there is any connection between the altercation and the shooting. The suspect(s) fled the scene prior to officers arrival. The Long Beach Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where she was listed in stable condition.
