LBPD North DET Officers Recover Ghost Gun and Several Rounds of Ammunition

On Feb. 28, 2023, officers assisted Los Angeles County Probation officers on a probation compliance check in the 1100 block of Jackson Street.
Upon arrival, officers contacted the probationer at his residence and began their compliance check. During their check, officers discovered an un-serialized firearm, illegal firearm paraphernalia and several rounds of ammunition. The suspect was arrested and transported to Long Beach City for booking. The suspect was identified as Jimmy Franco, a 41-year-old resident of Long Beach, who was booked on one count of felon in possession of a firearm, one count of a prohibited possessor in possession of ammunition, and a parole violation. Bail was set a no-bail.
This was a great effort in collaboration with our partners at the Los Angeles County Probation Department, and an amazing job by our North DET officers!
