  • Officers investigate a person with a gun with SWAT activation: On Aug. 31, 2025, at 6:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 4900 block of Locust Avenue for a report of a person armed with a gun.  The preliminary investigation revealed that a male adult suspect brandished a firearm during a verbal dispute with another person. Arriving officers were able to locate and contain the suspect, who retreated into a nearby residence.  Officers established communication with the suspect, who refused to surrender.  Negotiators and SWAT resources responded to the scene to assist. After approximately 90 minutes of negotiating with the suspect, he peacefully surrendered and was taken into custody.  The investigation is ongoing.
