LBPD Blotter - Nov. 9, 2025

As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Stabbing – 700 Block of Cherry Avenue:  On Nov. 8, 2025 at approximately 8:19p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of Cherry Avenue regarding a stabbing.  Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim who sustained non-life-threatening stab wounds to his upper and lower body.  The male adult suspect was still on scene.  Preliminary investigation revealed that the two males were involved in a dispute that escalated when the suspect stabbed the victim.  The suspect also sustained non-life-threatening injuries to his upper and lower body.  Both the suspect and the victim were transported to a local hospital for treatment, and the suspect was later booked into the Long Beach city jail. The suspect was identified as Devan Soben Titus Leang, an 18-year-old resident of Long Beach, who was booked for assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $30,000.00. The investigation is ongoing.
  • No-hit shooting – 5800 Block of California Avenue: On Nov. 8, 2025 at approximately 10:42p.m., officers responded to the 5800 block of California Avenue regarding a shots call.  Upon arrival, they located evidence that a shooting had occurred. The motive and circumstances of the shooting are unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
  • Hit shooting – 5700 Block of Union Pacific Railroad: On Nov. 9, 2025 at approximately 2:54 a.m., officers responded to the 5700 block of Union Pacific Railroad regarding a hit shooting.  Upon arrival, they contacted a male adult victim who sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body, and female adult victim who sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body.  The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.  Both victims were transported to a local hospital by Long Beach Fire personnel.  The motive and circumstances of the shooting are unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
