As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Hit Shooting – 2100 Block of West Spring Street: On March 1, 2026, at approximately 8:36 p.m., officers responded to the 2100 block of West Spring Street regarding a hit shooting. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the victim to a local hospital. The suspect information and motive for the shooting are under investigation.

  • Stabbing – 5400 Block of Locust Avenue: On March 2, 2026, at approximately 2:46 a.m., officers responded to the 5400 block of Locust Avenue regarding a stabbing that was later determined to be a domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim with a non-life-threatening wound to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the victim to a local hospital. The investigation remains ongoing.

  • Murder/Shooting Investigation – 200 Block of Pine Avenue: On March 1, 2026, at approximately 3:32 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Pine Avenue regarding a shooting involving three male adult victims. The victims were transported to a local hospital, where one victim succumbed to his injuries. The preliminary investigation indicates the shooting occurred in a parking structure. The motive, circumstances of the shooting, and suspect information remain under investigation. Homicide detectives responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing. A news release is forthcoming.
