Welcome to the LBPD Blotter!
As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department will begin posting information about recent police activity, ongoing investigations, and other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website.
At approximately 10:00 a.m. each day, community members will be able to read preliminary information about incidents that may have occurred the previous evening, including shootings, stabbings, traffic fatality, and murder investigations, as well as any other notable incidents. This page will be a resource for the public to learn more about enforcement efforts, arrests, and commendable events and will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:
- Officers Investigate Non-Fatal Stabbing - Last night, at approximately 9:43 p.m., officers responded to a local hospital regarding a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim suffering non-life threatening stab wounds to the upper body. The victim stated he was walking near the 2000 block of Long Beach Boulevard when he was approached by an unknown male adult suspect who stabbed him and then fled the scene on foot; the victim subsequently self-transported to a local hospital. At this time, the motive for the stabbing is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
- Officers Investigate a No-Hit Shooting - Last night, at approximately 10:48 p.m., officers responded to the 4600 block of Long Beach Boulevard regarding a shots call. Upon arrival, officers contacted a female adult victim who stated she was walking near the area when she observed and heard shots being fired in her direction; The victim subsequently ran from the area. Officers canvassed the area and located evidence, including casings and strike marks, indicating a shooting had occurred. At this time, no injuries were reported, no suspect information is available, and the motive for the shooting is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
- Officers Investigate a Non-Fatal Hit Shooting - This morning, at approximately 3:48 a.m., officers responded to the 5700 block of Ackerfield Avenue regarding a report of a hit shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the lower body. The Long Beach Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life injuries. The victim stated he was walking in the area when he heard gunfire and observed he had been shot. At this time, no suspect information is available, the motive for the shooting is unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
