Welcome to the LBPD Blotter!
As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department will begin posting information about recent police activity, ongoing investigations, and other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website.
At approximately 10:00 a.m. each day, community members will be able to read preliminary information about incidents that may have occurred the previous evening, including shootings, stabbings, traffic fatality, and murder investigations, as well as any other notable incidents. This page will be a resource for the public to learn more about enforcement efforts, arrests, and commendable events and will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:
- Officers Investigate No-Hit Shooting - On Sept. 16, 2022 at approximately 11:45 p.m., officers responded to the 5500 block of Dairy Avenue regarding a shots call. Upon arrival, officers contacted a physically uninjured male adult victim who stated he was walking in the area when he was approached by a male adult suspect driving a dark-colored vehicle. The suspect said something to the victim and discharged a firearm in his direction, missing the victim. The suspect fled in the vehicle in an unknown direction prior to officers’ arrival. No additional suspect information is known, and the investigation is ongoing.
- Officers Investigate Stabbing Incident - On Sept. 16, 2022 at approximately 10:14 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Queens Highway South regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, officer contacted a male adult victim with non-life-threatening stab wounds to the upper body. Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for his injures. The victim stated he was in the area when he was stabbed by an unknown suspect who fled in an unknown direction prior to officers’ arrival. The motive and suspect information is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
