-
Officers Make Arrest in Stabbing Incident - Yesterday at approximately 6:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Belmont Pier regarding a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim with non-life-threatening stab wounds to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for his injuries. The preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was engaged in a verbal exchange with a known female adult suspect. The verbal exchange escalated when the suspect brandished a knife and stabbed the victim. The suspect was still on scene when officers arrived, where she was subsequently arrested and transported to Long Beach City jail for booking. The suspect has been identified as Islas Nicola Marzena, a 41-year-old resident of Long Beach who was booked on one count of felony assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $30,000.
