Welcome to the LBPD Blotter!
As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department will begin posting information about recent police activity, ongoing investigations, and other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website.
At approximately 10:00 a.m. each day, community members will be able to read preliminary information about incidents that may have occurred the previous evening, including shootings, stabbings, traffic fatality, and murder investigations, as well as any other notable incidents. This page will be a resource for the public to learn more about enforcement efforts, arrests, and commendable events and will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:
- Stolen vehicle recovered and firearm seized – 900 block of Via Carmelitos - On Oct. 15, 2022, at approximately 11:02 a.m., officers on patrol located a stolen vehicle in the 900 block of Via Carmelitos surrounded by a group of subjects. During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers located a firearm. Through their investigation, officers determined one of the subjects was responsible for the firearm and arrested the male juvenile. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers Conduct Traffic Stop and Seize Ghost Gun– 10th Street and Obispo Avenue. On Oct. 15, 2022, at approximately 1:30 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that did not stop at a stop sign in the area of 10th Street and Obispo Avenue. During the traffic stop, the occupants got out and began running. Officers detained the driver and a passenger. During their investigation, officers located a ghost gun and high-capacity drum magazine in the vehicle and arrested two suspects - The investigation is ongoing:
• Andrew Cazales, an 18-year-old resident of the City of Huntington Park, was booked for one count of carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle and one count of possessing a firearm without a serial number. Bail was set at $35,000.
• Angel Oliver, a 19-year-old resident of the City of Huntington Park was booked for one count of obstructing/resisting a peace officer. Bail was set at $10,000. - Officers Investigate non-fatal stabbing - On Oct. 15, 2022, at approximately 10:15 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of East Anaheim Street regarding a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers contacted a female adult victim who stated she was walking in the area when a male adult suspect approached, stabbed her, and fled the scene on foot prior to officers arrival. A female adult victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening stab wounds to the upper body. At this time, the motive for the stabbing is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
- Officers arrest suspect in no-hit shooting- On Oct 16, 2022, at approximately 3:12 a.m., officers responded to the area of 20th Street and Pacific Avenue regarding a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located evidence, including casings, indicating a shooting had occurred. Through their investigation, officers determined an unknown suspect in a vehicle fired shots at two adult victims in another vehicle and then fled the scene. Officers canvassed the area, located the suspect vehicle, and arrested the driver. The driver was identified as Kenieph Crawford, a 34-year-old resident of the City of Bellflower. He was booked for one count of shooting into an inhabited dwelling, one count of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of prohibited possession of a firearm, and one count of prohibited possession of ammunition. Bail was set at $250,000. At this time, no injuries were reported, the motive for the shooting is unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
