Welcome to the LBPD Blotter!

As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department will begin posting information about recent police activity, ongoing investigations, and other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website.

At approximately 10:00 a.m. each day, community members will be able to read preliminary information about incidents that may have occurred the previous evening, including shootings, stabbings, traffic fatality, and murder investigations, as well as any other notable incidents. This page will be a resource for the public to learn more about enforcement efforts, arrests, and commendable events and will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Officers investigate a no-hit shooting: On 12/16/2022, at approximately 7:51 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Aquarium way regarding a shots calls. Upon arrival, officers located casings, indicating a shooting had occurred. Through their investigation, officers determined two groups of subjects were involved in a verbal dispute that escalated when at least one unknown suspect fired shots. Both groups then fled the scene prior to officers arrival. No injuries were reported. At this time, no suspect information is available and the motive for the shooting is unknown. The investigation is ongoing. 

  • Officers investigate a non-fatal stabbing: On 12/16/22, at approximately 8:13 p.m., officers responded to the area of 67th way and Obispo Street regarding a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim suffering from stab wounds to the upper body. The victim stated he was exiting his vehicle when an unknown suspect approached him from behind, stabbed him, and fled the scene prior to officers arrival. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical, but stable condition.  At this time, no suspect information is available and the motive for the stabbing is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
