Welcome to the LBPD Blotter!

As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department will begin posting information about recent police activity, ongoing investigations, and other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website.

At approximately 10:00 a.m. each day, community members will be able to read preliminary information about incidents that may have occurred the previous evening, including shootings, stabbings, traffic fatality, and murder investigations, as well as any other notable incidents. This page will be a resource for the public to learn more about enforcement efforts, arrests, and commendable events and will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Officers investigate a no-hit shooting: On August 29, 2022, at approximately 8:23 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 800 block of East 19th Street regarding a shots call. Upon arrival, officers located evidence, including casings, indicating a shooting had occurred. Preliminary investigation revealed two male suspects both discharged firearms from a vehicle and fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. Officers were unable to locate any victims. The investigation is ongoing.
  • Officers investigate a miscellaneous firearm discharge: On August 30, 2022, at approximately 1:44 a.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Crystal Court and 8th Street regarding a shots call. Upon arrival, officers located evidence, including casings, indicating a shooting had occurred. Officers were unable to locate any victim(s) or suspect(s) related to the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
  • Officers investigate a miscellaneous firearm discharge: On August 30, 2022, at approximately 7:31 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Bort Street regarding gunshot to a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located evidence, including casings, indicating a shooting had occurred. The suspect(s) fled the scene prior to officers' arrival. The investigation is ongoing. 
This blotter was updated on 8/30/22 at 11:15 a.m. to reflect the incident at the 100 block of Bort Street.
