As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

Officers investigate a shooting: On Oct. 7, 2023, at approximately 1:09 a.m., officers responded to a local hospital regarding a shooting victim that arrived. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the upper body. Officers learned that the shooting occurred in the 100 block of Pine Avenue. The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was in a business when he heard multiple male subjects arguing behind him, he then heard gunshots and discovered he had been shot. The victim fled and self-transported to the hospital. The suspect(s) fled the scene before police arrived. Officers located evidence, including strike marks and bullet fragments, indicating a shooting had occurred. Suspect information and the motive for the shooting is under investigation. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers investigate a shooting: On Oct. 7, 2023, at approximately 3:27 a.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Iroquois Avenue regarding a shots call. Upon arrival, officers determined a shooting occurred on Atherton Street, and located evidence, including bullet casings. The suspect(s) fled the scene before police arrived. Suspect information and motive for the shooting is under investigation. No injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
