As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:
- Officers investigate a shooting: On Oct. 31, 2023, at approximately 11:56 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Long Beach Boulevard and Artesia Boulevard regarding a traffic collision related to a no-hit shooting. Upon arrival, officers contacted an uninjured male adult victim, who stated he drove out of a parking lot, when he heard presumed gunfire coming from an unknown direction. He noticed his vehicle had been struck by gunfire, which resulted in him colliding with the center median. Officers located evidence indicating a shooting had occurred. Motive for the shooting and suspect information is under investigation. No injuries have been reported and the investigation is ongoing.
