As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Officers Investigate a Hit Shooting: On May 7, 2023, at approximately 3:42 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 6900 block of Orcutt Avenue regarding a hit shooting. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim who stated that he was standing outside when he was approached by the male adult suspect. The suspect then shot at the victim and struck the victim in the upper body. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. Fire Department personnel provided medical aid and transported the victim to a local hospital. No suspect information is known and the motive for the shooting is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.

 

  • Officers Investigate a Stabbing: On May 7, 2023, at approximately 9:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of Banner Drive regarding a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers contacted a female adult victim, who stated she was in her residence when she heard a loud noise and observed the male adult suspect inside. A fight ensued and she was then stabbed in her lower body, sustaining a non-life-threatening injury. The victim was uncooperative with the investigation. Fire Department personnel provided medical aid and transported the victim to a local hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
