As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

• Officers Investigate a Robbery - 

  On May 5, 2023, at approximately 9:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of 55^th Way regarding an armed carjacking.  Upon arrival, the officers contacted an uninjured male adult victim who stated he had parked his vehicle in a carport, and while unloading his vehicle, he was approached by three male adult suspects. The suspects demanded the victim’s car keys while one of the suspects pointed a handgun at him. The suspects took the victim's vehicle and fled the scene before officers arrived. The investigation is ongoing.

• On April 28, 2023, at approximately 8:01 p.m., officers responded to the 5500 block of Ackerfield Avenue regarding an armed carjacking.  Upon arrival, the officers contacted an uninjured male adult victim, who stated he was exiting his vehicle in the carport, when three male adult suspects approached him.  One of the suspects pointed a gun at the victim, while the suspect demanded the keys to his vehicle and other belongings.  During the robbery one of the suspects fired one shot into the air.  The suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle before officers arrived. The investigation is ongoing.
  
  
• On April 29, 2023, at approximately 2:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Jackson Street regarding an armed carjacking. Upon arrival, the officers contacted an uninjured female juvenile victim who stated that she was driving her vehicle when she picked up a known male juvenile suspect.  She parked her vehicle at the above location and was approached by three male adult suspects.  Suspect #1 approached from the passenger's side of the vehicle, reached inside the open window, and pointed a gun at her.  Suspects #2 and #3 approached the driver's side and pulled the victim out of the vehicle.  All three adult suspects and the juvenile suspect she picked up fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle before officers arrived. The investigation is ongoing.
