As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

No-Hit Shooting – 5500 block of Long Beach Boulevard - On March 30, 2024, at approximately 9:48 p.m., officers responded to the 5500 block of Long Beach Boulevard regarding a no-hit shooting and robbery. Upon arrival officers contacted a male adult victim with non-life-threatening injuries to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded and treated the victim at the scene for minor, non-life-threatening injuries. The preliminary investigation indicates that two male adult suspects approached the victim, struck him with a firearm and demanded his belongings, which escalated when one of the suspects discharged a firearm. The victim was not struck by gunfire. The suspects fled the scene prior officers’ arrival. No other injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
