  • Stabbing- 1000 block of Olive Avenue - On March 5, 2024, at approximately 9:38 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Olive Avenue regarding a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers contacted two adult victims, male and female, with non-life-threatening stab wounds to their upper bodies. Officers rendered medical aid until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived and transported the victims to a local hospital where they were listed in stable condition. The preliminary investigation indicates a verbal dispute occurred between the female victim and a known male adult suspect. During the dispute, the male victim attempted to separate the suspect and female victim, resulting in the suspect stabbing both victims, and subsequently punched through a glass window. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived; however, he was located at a local hospital receiving treatment for non-life-threatening wounds suffered at the scene. He was subsequently arrested and transported to Long Beach City Jail for booking. The suspect was identified as Albert Dylon Knightstead, a 27-year-old resident of Long Beach, who was booked for two counts of attempted murder. Bail was set at $2,100,000. The investigation is ongoing.

This information is preliminary and is intended for early information use rather than being a formal investigative report.
