Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Stabbing – 1400 block of East 9th Street: On June 24, 2024, at approximately 8:55 p.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of East 9th Street regarding an auto burglary in progress, which was later determined to be a vandalism. Upon arrival, officers contacted two male adult victims who were restraining a male adult suspect, all three with non-life-threatening stab wounds. Officers safely took the suspect into custody. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the victims and suspect to local hospitals. The preliminary investigation indicates the victims observed the male adult suspect vandalizing a vehicle. They confronted the suspect, who attacked both victims with a knife and a physical altercation occurred.  The victims restrained the suspect until police arrived and took the suspect into custody. The suspect was identified as Juan Carlos Marquez, a 40-year-old resident of Norwalk, who was arrested for vandalism and assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $240,000.

Great work officers! Yesterday, officers safely took two guns off the streets.
  • On June 25, 2024 at approximately 12:34 a.m., officers responded to a hit and run traffic collision against a parked vehicle. The suspect fled on foot before officers arrived. Officers located and recovered firearms in the suspect's vehicle. The suspect is outstanding.
