LBPD Blotter - June 22, 2024

As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Hit Shooting – 2300 block of Locust Avenue - On June 21, 2024 at approximately 9:50 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Locust Avenue regarding a shots call. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult, female adult, and female juvenile victim who told officers an unknown suspect discharged a firearm in their direction, missing them. While officers were on scene, a local hospital advised they were treating a female adult with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper body. Officers responded to the hospital, and also contacted an additional male adult and female juvenile victim. The preliminary investigation indicates, three victims were inside one vehicle, and the other three victims were inside a separate vehicle when an unknown suspect discharged a firearm in the direction of the vehicles striking one victim. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. The motive for the shooting is unknown. Evidence was collected. Detectives responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
  • No-Hit Shooting – 1400 block of Magnolia Avenue - On June 22, 2024 at approximately 4:58 a.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Magnolia Avenue regarding a shots call. Upon arrival, officers located evidence a shooting had occurred. No injuries were reported. Suspect information and motive for the shooting are being investigated. The investigation is ongoing.
