Officers Investigate a Stabbing and Arrest Suspect: On June 2, 2023, at approximately 12:33 a.m., officers were dispatched to a local hospital regarding a stabbing victim. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim suffering from a non-life-threatening stab wound to the upper body. The victim stated that he was at a residence in the 1000 block of East 5th Street, when he engaged in a verbal dispute with a known female adult suspect, which resulted in the suspect stabbing the victim. Observing he had been stabbed, the victim self-transported to a local hospital. Officers responded to the location of the incident and contacted the suspect, who was still on scene. She was subsequently arrested and transported to Long Beach City jail for booking. She was identified as Yuna Elise Alvarez, a 19-year-old resident of Long Beach, who was booked for assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $80,000. The investigation is ongoing.
