As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

No shootings nor stabbings were reported overnight.
- On July 7, 2024 at approximately 6:03 p.m., officers responded to 14th Street and Pine Avenue regarding a report of firearms in a vehicle. Through their investigation, officers located a male adult suspect and a male juvenile suspect, who were both determined to be prohibited possessors. Officers located two firearms on the suspects and four additional firearms in a nearby vehicle. The suspects were safely arrested and the firearms were recovered.
- On July 8, 2024 at approximately 1:14 a.m., officers observed a vehicle stuck in the sand in the 2100 block of Ocean Boulevard. During a driving under the influence investigation on the driver, officers located a firearm in the vehicle. The driver was safely arrested, and the firearm was recovered.
