Officers investigate an assault with a deadly weapon: On July 30, 2023, at approximately 10:52 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Shoreline Village Drive regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim with superficial wounds to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and treated the victim for his injuries; he refused to be transported to a hospital. The victim stated he in the area of the boat docks when he was approached by a male adult suspect. The suspect came up to the victim and began to physically assault him. The suspect then fled the scene. The victim realized he was bleeding, and had sustained injuries from an unknown weapon. At this time, the motive is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
