Officers investigate a hit shooting: On July 18, 2023 at approximately 9:59 p.m., officers responded to the 2500 block of Chestnut Avenue regarding a hit shooting report. Upon arrival, officers contacted the calling party who stated they were in the area when they heard presumed gunfire. While on scene, officers were notified that the shooting victim of the incident self-transported to a local hospital. Upon arrival at the hospital, the male adult victim stated he was inside his parked vehicle when an unknown vehicle with an unknown number of occupants approached him, fired shots at the victim, and drove off in an unknown direction. No other injuries were reported, suspect information and the motive for the shooting is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
