As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

• Officers investigate a no-hit shooting: On July 18, 2023, at approximately 12:46 a.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of Pacific Avenue regarding a no-hit shooting. Upon arrival, officers contacted an uninjured male adult victim. The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was working security in the area when he asked a group of three individuals who were trespassing on the property to leave. After the individuals left, one of them, a male adult suspect, approached the victim and fired a gun towards him, missing the victim. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. Motive for the shooting is under investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
