As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:
- No-Hit Shooting- 64th Street and Rose Avenue: On July 15, 2024 at approximately 8:00 p.m. officers responded to the area of 64th Street and Rose Avenue regarding a no-hit shooting. The preliminary investigation indicates a male adult victim and female adult victim were in driving in a vehicle when an unknown suspect discharged a firearm in their direction. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. No injuries were reported. Officers located evidence of a shooting. Suspect information and the motive for the shooting are under investigation and the investigation is ongoing.
Great work officers! Yesterday, officers safely took a gun off the streets.
- On July 16, 2024 at approximately 12:52 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop near the area of Wardlow Road and Orange Avenue. During a vehicle search, officers recovered a firearm. The suspect was arrested. The investigation is ongoing
