Hit Shooting - 700 block of East 20th Street: On July 9, 2024 at approximately 8:53 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of East 20th Street regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and transported him to a local hospital in stable condition. Preliminary investigation indicates two male adult suspects were in a vehicle when one discharged a firearm, striking the victim. The suspects fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. No other injuries were reported. Suspect information and the motive are under investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
