Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Hit-Shooting – 500 block of Queensway Drive – Today at approximately 3:57 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Queensway Drive regarding a shots call. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was walking in the area when he threw a brick at a parked RV, breaking a window. A male adult occupant was inside the RV, and subsequently discharged a firearm towards the broken window, striking the victim. Officers located the RV occupant and detained him at the scene, as the investigation is ongoing.

  • Stabbing – 900 block of Via Carmelitos – Today at approximately 12:02 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Via Carmelitos regarding a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers contacted a female adult victim with a non-life-threatening stab wound to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for her injuries. The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was inside a verbal altercation with a known female adult suspect, which escalated when the suspect stabbed the victim. The suspect fled on foot towards an unknown direction before officers arrived. The investigation is ongoing.

  • No-Hit Shooting - 1300 block of Alamitos Avenue - Yesterday, at approximately 7:19 p.m., officers responded to the 1300 block of Alamitos Avenue regarding a shots call, later determined to be a negligent discharge of a firearm. Upon arrival, located evidence, including bullet casings, indicating a shooting had occurred. No injuries were reported, no suspect information is known, and the motive for the shooting is unknown.
