As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Hit Shooting - 00 block of 38th Place
Last night, there was a shooting at approximately 12:53 a.m. in the 00 block of 38th Place, in which a man entered the victim’s home and shot the victim. Another resident of the home called 9-1-1. The male adult victim was transported to a hospital by LBFD where he is listed in stable condition. Officers began an investigation and recovered evidence from the shooting.
The identity of the suspect and motive for the shooting are currently under investigation. Detectives responded to the scene and are canvassing for witnesses, video, and evidence. We urge anyone with information to contact detectives at 562.570.7370.
Today, our patrol officers, Neighborhood Safety Bike Team, and detectives will be in the area to continue their investigation and engage with residents.
