As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:
- Hit-Shooting – 700 block of West Willow: On Feb. 21, 2025 at approximately 10:54 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of West Willow regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the victim to a local hospital. The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was inside a business when he was approached by a male adult suspect, which escalated when the suspect shot the victim. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. The investigation is ongoing.
- Hit-Shooting – 4400 block of Los Coyotes Diagonal: On Feb. 22, 2025 at approximately 2:51 a.m., officers responded to the 4400 block of Los Coyotes Diagonal regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the victim to a local hospital. The preliminary investigation indicates that three female adult suspects were stealing items from a business, and the victim attempted to stop them, which escalated when one of the suspects shot the victim. The suspects fled the scene before police arrived. The investigation is ongoing.
