As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • No shootings or stabbings were reported.

Great work officers! Last night, officers safely recovered two firearms.

  • Traffic Stop – 1500 block of Pacific Coast Highway: On Feb. 1, 2025 at about 6:01 p.m., High Crime Focus Team officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Pacific Coast Highway. During their investigation, they located a firearm and narcotics in the vehicle. Officers arrested two of the vehicle's occupants - a male adult suspect, who was a prohibited possessor, for narcotics- and firearm-related offenses and a female adult suspect for narcotics-related offenses. The investigation is ongoing.

  • Traffic Stop – Cherry Avenue and Washington Street: On Feb. 1, 2025 at about 8:41 p.m., High Crime Focus Team officers conducted a traffic stop near Cherry Avenue and Washington Street. The male adult driver fled the scene on foot but was located and taken into custody a short distance away. During their investigation, officers located a firearm in the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
