As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

  • Stabbing – 3300 block of Pacific Avenue - On Feb. 2, 2024, at approximately 3:06 a.m., officers responded to the 3300 block of Pacific Avenue regarding a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim suffering a non-life-threatening stab wound to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and treated the victim for his injuries.The victim refused to be transported to a hospital for additional treatment. The victim was uncooperative in providing additional details of the incident; however, officers determined the victim was in a brief verbal altercation with a known female adult suspect, which escalated when she stabbed him. The suspect was still on scene when officers arrived, and she was subsequently arrested and transported to Long Beach City Jail for booking. The suspect was identified as Linda Hogan, a 65-year-old resident of Long Beach who was booked for one count of assault with a deadly weapon. Bail is set at $30,000. No other injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
