As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

UPDATE at 3:00 p.m. (in bold):

  • Barricaded Suspect - Frontenac Court and Nardo Way - Today at approximately 12:51 p.m., detectives were in the area of Frontenac Court and Nardo Way attempting to locate a possible suspect, when the suspect barricaded themselves inside a tent and refused to comply with officer’s commands. Officers established a perimeter, and nearby residents have evacuated and/or sheltered in place. Officers are attempting to make contact with the suspect, and negotiators are attempting to de-escalate the situation. Officers are on scene and the investigation is ongoing. After some time, the suspect complied with officers’ commands and was taken into custody without incident. The suspect will be transported to Long Beach City jail for booking. The investigation is ongoing.
