As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:
- Non-Fatal Stabbing - 2000 Block of Cerritos Avenue- On 2/13/2023, at approximately 4:34 a.m., officers responded to the 2000 block of Cerritos Avenue regarding a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim suffering from stab wounds to the upper body. The victim stated an unknown male suspect approached him from behind, stabbed him, and fled the scene prior to officers arrival. The Long Beach Fire Department responded and treated the victim at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries. At this time, the motive for the stabbing is unknown, no suspect information is available, and the investigation is ongoing
- Non-Fatal Stabbing - 300 Block of West Pacific Coast Highway -On 2/12/2023, at approximately 11:48 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of West Anaheim Street regarding a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim suffering from stab wounds to the upper and lower body. The victim stated he was inside a business near the 300 block of West Pacific Coast Highway when he became involved in a verbal dispute with a male adult suspect that escalated to the stabbing. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers arrival. The Long Beach Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
