Officers investigate a hit-shooting - On Dec. 8, 2023 at approximately 9:09 p.m., officers were dispatched to a local hospital regarding a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body. The victim stated he was walking in the area of Ocean Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue, when he heard presumed gunfire coming from an unknown direction. Observing he had been struck by gunfire, the victim self-transported to a local hospital. Officers responded to the location but were unable to locate a crime scene. No other injuries were reported. At this time, no suspect information is available and the motive for the shooting is unknown. The investigation is ongoing
