Officers investigate a stabbing- 700 block E. 8th Street
On Dec. 6, 2023 at approximately 3:49 a.m., officers responded to the 700 block of E. 8th Street regarding a report of a male adult subject bleeding. Through their preliminary investigation, officers learned the male subject had sustained self-inflicted stab wounds as well as had stabbed a female adult relative. After a short period of time, officers located the suspect walking in the 1200 block of Linden Avenue and were able to safely apprehend him. Officers rendered medical aid until the arrival of LBFD, who transported the suspect to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The female adult victim self-transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Once medically cleared, the suspect will be booked into Long Beach City Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
