Officers investigate a stabbing: On Dec. 24, 2023 at approximately 9:31 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Willow Street and Atlantic Avenue regarding a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim with a superficial wound to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and treated the victim for his injury. The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was approached by an unknown number of male adult suspects when a brief verbal altercation occurred, which resulted in the stabbing. The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived. At this time, no suspect information is available, and no other injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
