This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

No-Hit Shooting – 200 block of Aquarium Way – On Aug. 29, 2024 at approximately 9:42 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Aquarium Way regarding a shooting. The preliminary investigation suggests a male adult suspect and unknown female adult victim were engaged in a verbal confrontation. As the confrontation continued, three male juvenile victims approached the victim and suspect in order to de-escalate, however, the situation escalated when the suspect and juvenile victims engaged in a physical altercation. During the fight, the suspect produced a firearm and fired shots, not striking anyone. The suspect and victims fled the scene before officers arrived. A short while later, officers were dispatched to the 0 block of W Shoreline Drive regarding a male suspect brandishing a firearm. Officers arrived on scene, quickly arrested the suspect, and determined he was the same suspect from the shooting. A firearm was recovered, and the suspect was transported and booked into Long Beach City Jail. The suspect has been identified as Iopu Kaino Tauiliili, a 22-year-old resident of Las Vegas, who was booked on one count of robbery and one count of assault with a firearm. Bail was set at $50,000. The investigation is ongoing.
Great work officers! Last night, officers safely took another gun off the streets
- On Aug. 29, 2024 at approximately 2:41 p.m., officers conducted a vehicle traffic stop in the 1000 block of Obispo Avenue. During their investigation, officers recovered a firearm and ammunition. The suspect who was later determined to be a prohibited possessor, was arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
