As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department’s homepage and on the “News” tab of the Department’s website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Officers investigate a no hit shooting: On Aug. 24, 2023, at approximately 8:20 p.m., officers responded to the area of 60th Street and De Forest Avenue regarding a no hit shooting and attempt robbery. Upon arrival, officers contacted an uninjured male adult victim, who stated he was riding his bicycle northbound on the east side of the riverbed bike path, when two unknown suspects attempt to steal his bicycle. As the victim struggled with the suspects over the bicycle, one of the suspects fire a gunshot towards an unknown direction The suspects fled the scene towards an unknown direction before officers arrived. At this time, no suspect information is available. The investigation is ongoing.
