Here’s a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Officers investigate a stabbing: On Aug. 20, 2023, at approximately 6:18 p.m., officers responded to the area of 3rd Street and Linden Avenue regarding a stabbing. The preliminary investigation indicates that the male adult victim and female adult suspect were in their residence, engaged in a verbal dispute, which escalated when the suspect stabbed the victim with a knife. The suspect fled the scene in her vehicle. Fire Department personnel transported the victim to a local hospital for a non-life-threatening stab wound to the upper body. Officers located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle and conducted a vehicle stop in the 1100 block of East Broadway, leading to the arrest of the female adult suspect.

The suspect was identified as Rubi Rosales Martinez, a 24-year-old resident of Long Beach, who was booked for assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, and driving under the influence. Bail was set at $50,000. The investigation is ongoing.

This information is preliminary and is intended for early information use rather than being a formal investigative report.
