Officers Investigate a No-Hit Shooting: On August 13, 2023 at approximately 2:02 a.m., officers responded to the 5400 block of Linden Avenue regarding a shots call, which was later determined to be a no-hit shooting. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim. The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim and the male adult suspect got into a verbal dispute that escalated to the suspect firing shots in the air. No injuries were reported. The suspect was arrested on scene and identified as Daniel Salas-Barrios, a 29-year-old resident of Long Beach. Daniel Salas-Barrios was transported to the Long Beach City Jail on one count of assault with a firearm and is being held on $50,000 bail. Officers located casings and evidence that a shooting had occurred. The investigation is ongoing.
