Officers Investigate a Hit-Shooting - Yesterday at approximately 8:29 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Chestnut Avenue regarding a hit-shooting. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim with life-threatening gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene to treat the victim and transport him to a local hospital. The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was speaking to a known female subject in the 1400 block of Chestnut Avenue when he was approached by an unknown male suspect who revealed a firearm and shot the victim. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction prior to officers’ arrival. The victim is recovering in the hospital and is in stable condition. No suspect information nor motive is known, and the investigation is ongoing.
